What Is Rotary?
Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

The Rotary Club of Sanford
OUR HISTORY
Early in 1925 some business leaders in Sanford thought it would be nice to have a Rotary Club in Sanford. This was just ten years after the Raleigh Rotary Club was organized, the first civic club in that city.....and just twenty years after the first Rotary Club was chartered in Chicago in 1905 by Paul Harris and others. The Rotary Club of Dunn sponsored the Sanford club and was greatly assisted by the Raleigh Club. The Rotary Club of Sanford was organized and the Charter Night was held on Thursday night May 14, 1925. As a community-focused organization based in Sanford, NC, we are dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of our members and the broader community. We believe that by coming together, we can achieve great things. Get in touch with us today to learn more.
